Why We Have a Cancellation and No-Show Policy

We understand that plans change. Work, family, illness, travel, and unexpected situations can make it necessary to change an appointment. We simply ask that you give us enough notice whenever possible.

When you schedule an appointment, that time is reserved specifically for you. If an appointment is missed or canceled at the last minute, there is often not enough time to offer it to another patient who may have been waiting for an earlier appointment.

Think about your own workday. If you set aside an hour of your time for someone, prepared for the meeting, and turned away other opportunities because that time was already committed, it would be frustrating if the person simply did not show up. More importantly, that hour cannot be given back or used to help someone else.

Our cancellation and no-show policy is not intended to punish anyone. It is simply about respecting everyone’s time—yours, ours, and the patients who are waiting to be seen.

We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This gives us a reasonable opportunity to offer the appointment to another patient. When adequate notice is not provided, a cancellation or no-show fee may apply.

We appreciate your understanding and, most importantly, your consideration for the time that has been reserved for you.

If It Has Been More Than 12 Months Since Your Last Refill

If you have not refilled your medication in more than 12 months, a re-consultation will be required before treatment can be restarted.

After this much time has passed, we cannot assume that your hair loss, scalp condition, overall health, medications, bloodwork, or treatment needs are the same as when you were last evaluated. A re-consultation allows us to reassess your hair and scalp, review any changes in your health or medications, and determine whether your previous treatment is still appropriate and safe for you.

This is an important part of responsible medical care. Like medications used to manage other chronic conditions, hair loss medication is typically prescribed for ongoing, lifelong use and requires appropriate medical follow-up, particularly after a prolonged break in treatment. We want to make sure we are treating your current condition rather than simply restarting a prescription based on information that may be more than a year old.

For this reason, if more than 12 months have passed since your last medication refill, you will be considered a returning patient and will need a re-consultation before medication can be prescribed again.

Medication Return | Refund Policy

During your consultation, we provide a detailed explanation of potential side effects, which you can also find on our website and in the follow-up email we send after your consultation. We encourage you to carefully review this information before beginning any medication.

In compliance with Texas state law, pharmacies are prohibited from accepting returns of prescription drugs or redistributing them to another person’s prescription. All medication orders are final sale, even if side effects unfortunately occur, as they cannot be predicted.

Our office only accepts returns of Hair + Scalp Therapy products (shampoo, conditioner, and supplements) for a full refund if the product is still sealed and in its original packaging. Each return or refund case is evaluated individually, and outcomes may vary depending on the specific circumstances.
